My sweet, second born turned FIVE last week! I feel like he's growing up so much and I wanted to jot down a few things that I want to remember when I look back years from now.
First of all, when I think of Jacob my immediate thought it his amazing smile. That precious dimple he has on the left side of his cheek makes me melt!
5 year old observations:
- Can write his name and some small words
- Can read some small sentences
- Definitely has athletic abilities
- Notices girls with long hair
- Enjoys ANYTHING star wars and talks non-stop about it
- Has a soft heart for others less fortunate than him
- Loves soccer and baseball
- Adventurous with food
-Weighs himself almost daily to see if he's catching up with Caleb
-Wants to marry Mommy
Legos are a big part of his life. He.cant.get.enough.
Right now, one of his loves is Camo clothing. He saw this is the store and pulled out his little dimpled smile, and I caved :)
One of his favorite outside pasttimes is finding frogs, holding frogs, giggling about frogs, thinking about frogs... The boys caught a HUGE frog one evening and put him in this planter. As soon as I took this picture, it leaped out and I screamed :)
He's so gentle with Luke and is usually looking out for him in various ways. He watches to make sure Luke's food isn't too big, that he doesn't have a small lego in his hand/mouth, etc. If Luke's sad, he'll give him precious Monkey to hold.
He really thinks Caleb is awesome. He always wants to be involved in big brother's school activities and is usually thinking of ways to play with him when Caleb comes home from school.
He's a great big helper at home too. He can fold some laundry, sweeps, vacuums, dusts, and cleans toilets. Amen!
And here he is starting his last first day of Preschool today!
Sporting his new back pack from the Grandparents.
One of the greatest things we've noticed about Jacob is his heart of generosity. Out of the blue, he'll take money out of his piggy bank and leave coins on our dresser just because (and insists that we take it). He likes to put extra in Caleb's wallet too. Also, just the other week he took one of his hot wheel cars and brought it to a restaurant for another little boy to have. When we walked in, he spent several minutes scaling the room, found a boy his age and walked up to him and gave him the car. This spurs this Mama's heart to be generous with the things God blesses me with and I hope it will spur you on too.
