We institued "blanket time" a while ago so Caleb could master the art of playing quitely by himself in his room and sit for an extended period of time. We usually use a special toy box of toys that he plays with only during this time and then supplement them with a few toys he's used to.
All we have to say is "blanket time" and he runs in his room and sits down. He has really enjoyed this so far.
I set a timer for the alloted time and say: "Have fun with blanket time, Caleb". Then he usually gives me this sweet kissy face and wants a kiss before I leave the room.
He has done such a great job of sitting still and not getting up until the timer goes off.
Once he hears the timer, he begins to clean up. He's such a big helper.
He even picks up the blanket for me...
and tries so hard to put it on the back of the chair.
This boy loves his new roomtime and so does Mommy!
