We celebrated Caleb's birthday on his actual birthday this year, on Friday. He wanted a Hot Wheels themed party which I was excited about too.
I made some of the decorations and the others I found at the dollar store.
Road sings made out of construction paper.
I wanted the tables to resemble roads, so I just cut stips of yellow carstock and added them to black table cloths and used cars we already had.
The food was mostly sweets:
Fruit cars and spare tires
| Stoplight treats and Nuts and Bolts |
Finish line cupcakes. I made the toppers from duck tape :)
For his cake I decided to make 2 round layers and stuck them together. The track is made out of crushed Oreo cookies. Easy peasy.
The kids enjoyed some play time inside with a new hot wheels track (given to Caleb from one of his buddies at school) and with two car play mats we already owned.
As for the games, we played "Pin the car on the track", bean bag toss with real tires, and a race car relay.
The kids made their own cars out of boxes I already had in the attic. They decorated them with construction paper, duck tape, markers, and black plates for wheels.
On your mark, get set, go!
Go, Caleb, go!
This little girl has really taken to my husband.
His new bike!
