Easter Traditions - Our Easter Mountain

My favorite holiday to celebrate is Easter. It brings joy to my heart to meditate on Jesus' loving sacrifice for my sins and that He is ALIVE and loves me! I wanted to share with you all some of our Easter traditions we have in the Moseley home (in two separate posts).

1. Easter Mountain

I got this super cool idea from this wonderful book, Treasuring God in Our Traditions, by Noel Piper. We basically made a play-do tomb and baked it in the oven for several hours. The process of making it was so fun for the boys.

Here's what ours looked like once we kneaded and shaped it. Into the oven it went for 3 hours.

We decided to paint it to make it look more like a tomb.

Added some rocks for fun.

I already had these chenille people from a few years ago. I made some disciples, including Judas, Mary, Pilot, some soldiers and Jesus.

On Friday, Jesus will be placed in the tomb with the stone covering the entry. And on Sunday when the boys come down for breakfast, Jesus will be standing on top of the mountain and we will shout, "Jesus is Alive"!!! This is just as good for my heart as it is theirs.
