Other Easter Traditions

Along with our Easter Mountain, we incorporate these other traditions:

1. Resurrection eggs.

For each day of Holy week, I have taken each part of the story leading up to Jesus' death and Resurrection and and broken it up over 7 days. For each of those days, the boys open an egg (or eggs) that represent that part of the story.

The cracker represents the last Supper Jesus had with their disciples. We talked to the boys about how Jesus broke the bread into pieces and gave them to each man. Jacob thought it was a good idea to break up the Wheat Thin just like Jesus did and share it with brother.

We also incorporate this book along with the pictures.

2. Jello Jiggler Eggs:

Mimi introduced us to these. I usually let the boys pick out what flavors they want and then we make them together.

3. Resurrection Rolls:

And last but not least, we make Resurrection Rolls on Easter Morning. The marshmallow represents the body of Jesus. Once baked the marshmallow is no longer there, just like Jesus' body was no longer in the tomb. HE HAS RISEN!
