Our small group has a Christmas party every year at our pastor's home and this year I was asked to plan it along with Amanda, one of my best girlfriends. We had a lot of fun planning it, which gave us more time to hang out and let both of our sons have a play date all at the same time.
Amanda and I (old picture of us at the beach - notice the sunburn!)
For the party, we went caroling around the neighborhood, then had heavy hor d'oeuvres for dinner and played a rendition of the white elephant game, only it was called Gradma Piney's Christmas. The food was great! We had ham, pigs in a blanket, stuffed pizza rolls, meatballs, several types of sandwiches, soup, mozzerella sticks, and vegetables with spinach dip. We also had hot apple cider and hot cocoa along with several yummy desserts, including the best banana bread I have EVER tasted...thanks to my friend Amanda's cooking talent. I defintely ate too much.
Here's one of the things I brought: Stuffed pizza rolls. You can find the recipe here. I really love this website for creative food - that's easy and a lot of fun to make. You basically fill your pizza dough that you cut into squares with anything you'd like, but I went with the traditional sausage and pepporoni first go round.
Y U M .
I dont actually have pictures of the party...I forgot my camera! This years theme for the white elephant game was to bring something from your home that is green or green. Either green in color or something that is eco-friendly/saves energy/normally recycle, etc. David ended up with some sticky notes and I got to bring home a cute green purse. It always helps to draw a higher number from the pot. Next year David will have to try a little harder :).

Those pizza rolls were SO SO SO good! Thanks for the recipe! :)
