Caleb has officially entered the world of big boy school. He had his first day of Kindergarten a couple of weeks ago!
His teacher says he is doing well and has gotten all green lights thus far. Everyday he tells me he enjoys school and has already made a friend in his class. I'm thankful for this smooth transition!
The first day of class I walked him to his room and I didn't cry until we reached the doorway to his class. I told him how much I loved him and would miss him. I really didn't want to cry in front of him so that he wouldn't get upset, but this sweet boy pulled me in and hugged me for what seemed like forever. He didn't let me go until I did. Here I was a mess....trying to be strong to comfort him on his first day and he ended up comforting me.
After school that first day I told him how proud I was of him and that he did a super job at school without Mommy. He replied in a matter-of-a-fact voice, "Yup. I'm just growing up!"
Yes indeed he is.
