Our first born turned six on Saturday. *Sniff, sniff* He's too grown up and I've gotta get used to the fact that he's growing up so fast.
Some observations of this sweet boy at 6:
- Favorite toys: Legos, hot wheel cars, superheros, board games
- Favorite sport: soccer
At 6, he can...
Tie his shoes (we haven't done this with him in a while though)
Ride his bike without training wheels
Read some books by himself
Write some sentences
Pay attention to direction (even better than his Mama sometimes - he's my GPS)
Draw and color well
He's usually not shy to try something new and is determined to succeed in his school work. I see so much of this Mama in him, its scary! He's really great at figuring out how things work and can spot and know different types of cars while we're going down the road. He's so kind and gentle with Luke and is so attentive to his needs right now, which is a blessing!
He's generally, our rule-follower in the house and loves to seek out competition. We're working with him on learning how to be a good sport if he loses. Caleb really enjoys playing board games and is pretty quick to catch on to strategy.
Caleb is doing great in school and is on target in all areas of his subjects. This month his teacher awarded him with the integrity award out of all the students in his class! He's also made a good friend this year at school and says he his favorite thing there is P.E. and recess :) One sweet thing he gets excited about is when he gets to wear exercise-like shirts to school for P.E. days. Just something simple like this gets him so happy, he talks about it for days.
