During Holy Week, we spent some time as a family each night to read God's Word and talk about the importance of what Jesus did for us. This year we made our Easter Mountain and used our Resurrection eggs like we have in the past; its fun to see them so excited!
We also use this book as we tell the story each night.
Here's the beginnings of our Easter Mountain. We stuffed a small cup inside for the tomb opening.
The boys painted the tomb after it cooked and cooled and then we added some of the disciples, Mary, soldiers, King Herod, the donkey and Jesus.
On Friday night, Jesus is placed inside the tomb with the stone covering the entrance. On Sunday, the boys found Jesus out of the tomb, celebrating He's alive!
Here's Jacob opening the egg that reminds us that the soldiers cast lots for his Jesus' clothes.
Our Resurrection Rolls! The tomb is empty!
This year we did something new and had a glow-in-the-dark egg hunt. We filled some eggs we already had on hand with dollar store glow sticks. Once it was dark, we hid the eggs outside in our backyard for the boys and they had a BLAST finding them all! We will definitely be doing this again next year since it was a big hit.
That night we scattered the eggs around their room once they got into bed for the night. They LOVED it!
