Tuesday night Caleb woke us up at 11:15 pm crying and coughing. I was alarmed at his cough because not only was he very healthy all day long, but his cough sounded like a seal barking. Along with his coughing, he was having trouble breathing, so we decided to take him the the ED. Thankfully, by the time we got there, his breathing was returning to normal and his cough sounded alot better. He actually played and smiled at the nurses, which was such a comforting sight. We were finally seen by the ED physician by 3:00am and got the suspected diagnosis of croup. He receieved tylenol for his fever and a steriod for his airway and we finally made it back home a little after 4:00 am we were able to get a few hours of rest.
We just had a check up today to follow up on the ED visit, and things are looking up. He's acting more and more like himself each day and his Pediatrician has hopes that Caleb will feel alot better by Monday. He no longer has the croup cough, but has a congested cough along with a stuffy nose. Thankfully, there are no signs of an ear infection, as this is common after croup. He's not too interested in eating, but that has begun to pick up some. And we're having a lot of cuddling time.
Times like these makes us appreciate the special blessings we have been given. Times like these help us grow and strengthen our faith in Him. God's Word promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He kept his promise. Prayer is powerful and God is good.
I'm so glad he's ok! Poor little guy!
